Cohen Children's gets a new Pediatric Oncology Playroom!

Partnered with Northwell Cohen Children's Medical Center, in Lake Success, NY.  On January 20th, 2016, the Nicholas Pedone Foundation presented the hospital with a $250,000 grant to be used to newly reconstruct their Pediatric HEM-ONC Playroom.  The playroom officially opened the doors to "Nicky's Nest" on Valentines Day, February 14th, 2018!

Our HOP4Kids program funds on local Hospital Outreach Projects.  We focus on how we can help improve a child's smile and healing process during their time in a hospital or cancer clinic environment while encouraging them to always Fight Hard Smile Big!

On November 21st, 2024, during our 10th Anniversary Casino Night Celebration, the Nicholas Pedone Foundation presented Sunrise Camp Association of Long Island with a $150,000 grant to provide in-camp ground transfers for their young cancer warriors and siblings to assist with getting them to different daily activities throughout the day.  Nicky's Sunrise Express is excited to be part of this amazing organization's family for the next 8-10 years.

In August 2019, the Nicholas Pedone Foundation gifted $94,000 to fund a dedicated Child Life Assistant to Nicky's Nest for 2 years!  We know first hand the importance of Child Life and how special these individuals are.  They are medical professionals who work with children and families and help them cope and understand the challenges of hospitalization, illness, procedures, testing etc.  They help children understand on a child level what to expect.  They love and play with the kids to ensure they are comfortable.  They help parents and families and provide a loving environment.  These children build a relationship and comfort with the Child Life Specialist and we are honored to be able to have 1 dedicated specifically to Nicky's Nest!
